How to Resolve Internal Server Error in Embedded Reporting Build

This article provides a step-by-step guide to resolving the internal server error in the Bold Reports Embedded Reporting Tool.

Procedure 1:

  1. It is highly recommended to create a backup of the entire IISExpress folder before proceeding.
  2. Enable the ASP.NET 4.8 option in the Windows Features. After applying the changes, click the OK button.

  3. Close the Embedded Control Panel and terminate the IIS Express process.
  4. Delete the IIS Express folder located at C:\Users{{dynamic}}\Documents\IISExpress.
  5. Again, open the embedded build.

Procedure 2:

  1. Begin by navigating to the installation location of IISExpress, which could be, for example, C:\Users\YourName\Documents\IISExpress.
  2. It is highly recommended to create a backup of the entire IISExpress folder before proceeding.
  3. Download the IISExpress folder from the provided link IISExpress.zip, extract its contents, and replace the existing IISExpress folder with the extracted one.
  4. Stop the IISExpress service and close the embedded reporting build.
  5. Reopen the embedded reporting build and attempt to create a report using Report Designer, then proceed to view the report using Report Viewer.
