Migrate the Bold Reports Database from One Server to Another Server

This section explains how to migrate the Bold Reports® metadata database from one server to another. The following actions need to be performed to complete the migration:

  1. Back up and restore the metadata database.
  2. Reset the Bold Reports® application’s connection string.
  3. Change the site metadata connection string.
  4. Restart the Bold Reports® services.

Backup and Restore the Metadata Database

Follow the given guidelines to back up and restore the database:

Reset the Bold Reports® Application’s Connection String

Click here to run the utility to reset the database.

Change the Site Metadata Connection String

  • Go to the following location: https://“App Base URL”/ums/sites.

  • Edit the sites for which you want to change the database connections.

  • Update the new database connection details and click on the update button.

  • Your data will now be stored in the restored database.

Restart the Bold Reports® services

Click here to restart the Bold Reports® services.
