How to Sort the Legend in a Chart in Bold Reports

Published:
Updated:

In Bold Reports, the legend in a chart is a text box that displays the names of the different data series in the chart. By default, the legend is sorted alphabetically, but you can also sort it by other criteria, such as the value of the data series. Sorting the legend can make it easier to understand the data in a chart and help identify trends within the data.

Follow the steps below to sort the legend in a column chart:

  1. Drag and drop a column chart report-item.

  2. Configure the data for the chart item based on your requirement. For example, we have passed the field ItemSold for Y-Values, Region for Column, and Country for Rows like below,

  3. Click on the settings icon in Rows and then select the Sorts… to sort the legend in a chart.

  4. In the Sorts dialog box, you can choose to sort the legend labels in either “Ascending” or “Descending” depending on your requirements.

By default, the legend will be sorted in “Ascending” order.
