How to Filter Data in Charts in Bold Reports

Filters play a crucial role in refining the presentation of data within a report, enabling the inclusion or exclusion of specific values from the display or offering varied views of a dataset across multiple data regions. In the report processing pipeline, filters are strategically applied and processed in a sequence to streamline and optimize data representation.

This step involves including or excluding specific data points based on the defined filtering parameters.

  1. Drag and drop the chart from the chart panel and add the values to the chart from the dataset.

  2. Create the parameter and add the parameter value from the dataset for filter the chart.

  3. In the DATA assign panel, under the column section, click on the Settings icon.

  4. Now, click on the Filters option in the menu. Then, add the filter as shown in the snapshot below.

  5. Click the Preview button to see the output of the chart is filtered based on the given parameter value.
