How to Customize Cell Borders in Bold Reports

Customizing cell borders in Bold Reports is a valuable feature that allows users to highlight specific details in their reports effectively. This feature is particularly useful when you need to emphasize essential information or pinpoint specific data within your reports. With Bold Reports, you can customize all four sides of a cell’s border (top, left, right, bottom) to tailor your reports to your exact requirements. Additionally, customized borders help improve the clarity and readability of your reports, allowing readers to quickly identify key points.

Follow these steps to customize cell borders in Bold Reports:

  1. Drag and drop a text box report item.
  2. Click the textbox you want to customize the borders for. Access the cell’s properties and navigate to the Appearance settings.

  3. Within the Appearance section, find the white rectangle box near the Border option. Click on the white rectangle box and select Advanced.

  4. In the Advanced Options dialog box, you can customize the following properties for each border:
    • Style: Choose the style of the border from options like Dashed, Dotted, Double, None, or Solid.

    • Color: Specify the color of the border.

    • Width: Define the width of the border.

Users can also customize Cell Borders for other report items such as Tablix, matrix, etc., to meet their specific requirements.

In our example, the following border styles were selected: Top as Solid, Bottom as Dashed, Left as Dotted and Right as Double.

  1. Save your changes, and then preview the report to see the customized cell borders in action.
