Filter the Top and Bottom Values in a Tablix

In Bold Reports, the filtering of top and bottom values in a tablix allows users to focus on significant data points, making it easier to analyze and derive insights from large datasets. This feature is particularly useful when dealing with numerical data, helping users identify outliers, trends, or specific ranges that require attention.

  1. Before configuring the filter options, refer to the output snapshot of the report viewer after creating the table.

  2. In the report interface, select the tablix items you want to filter. Choose the filter options as shown in the snapshot below.

  3. In the filtering options, select the TopN filter option. Set the count of top values to be displayed.

  4. To display values in the correct order, choose the sorting option and set it to descending. By default, values are often in ascending order.

  5. Click the Preview button to see the output. Verify that the top values are correctly filtered in the tablix.

  6. Repeat the same procedure for filtering the lowest values. Choose the BottomN option in the filter settings.
