How to Customize Chart Legend Shapes in Bold Reports

This article explains how to use the LegendShape custom attribute in Bold Reports to control the visual appearance of legend markers in chart widgets. By setting this attribute, you can change how legend items are displayed (for example, as circles or rectangles). This helps improve readability and align reports with design or branding standards.

Steps to Configure the LegendShape Attribute

1.Open the Report Designer

• Open your report in the Bold Reports Designer and select the pie Chart you want to modify.
  
  

2.Add the Legend shape property

• In the Properties panel, scroll down to the Miscellaneous section and locate the Custom Attributes option.
• Click the Set Attribute button to open the Custom Attributes dialog box.
• Enter the following details
  Attribute Name: LegendShape
  Value: Enter your desired shape (for example, circle or rectangle).
  
  

3.Save and Preview

• Click OK to save the attribute. Then click the Preview button in the top toolbar to view the changes. Verify that the legend markers reflect the specified shape.
