How to Count Status Values Using a Column Chart in Bold Reports

Bold Reports enables users to analyze data frequency across categories and identify trends by creating column charts using aggregate functions like COUNT to tally occurrences. You can customize chart settings for clear and effective visualizations.

Steps to Count Values Using Column Charts

Step 1. Select the Chart and Navigate to the Data Section

  • Select the column chart in Bold Reports and open the Properties panel by clicking the settings icon.
  • Navigate to the Data section next to the Properties panel.

Step 2. Assign Field Values to the Axes

  • For the Y-axis (Values), select the field you want to aggregate (e.g., a numerical field).
  • For the Column, select the field from the Dimensions section that represents the categories to count (e.g., a status field).

Step 3. Apply the Aggregate Function

  • In the Y-axis field settings, click the Settings icon and select Count from the Aggregate dropdown to calculate the frequency of occurrences for the selected category field.

Step 4. Preview the Chart

  • Save the settings and preview the report to verify that the chart correctly displays the count of occurrences across categories.
